  8. I'm sitting in front of my radio and Herbert Gröni sounds into my 
  9. ears !  Next to me he's standing: the STAR LC 10.Successor of the 
  10. magic  STAR  NC-10.Now  I've also one and I'll try  to  tell  you 
  11. something about this latest product of STAR !  This printer is  a 
  12. nine-pin-printer.

  14. After removing the package we find the following things: first of 
  15. all the printer (OH!),the cylinderbutton,the printercover and the 
  16. 140 pages printermanual,the single-leaf-entry (halfautomatic) and 
  17. last but not least the colourtape,a sticker and one page with all 
  18. important commands.What are we going to do now?  Let's look  into 
  19. the manual and try to build up the printer.After five minutes  we 
  20. got to install the infinite-paper ! You'll have to work some more 
  21. minutes  to install it in the correct way because the  transport- 
  22. mechanism is right at the back of the printer.After a few minutes 
  23. we  solve  also this problem and now we can try to  develope  the 
  24. technical-tricks of this,  since some weeks, very cheap printer ! 
  25. A new great mechanism is the so called 'halfautomatic'.To  change 
  26. the  used paper from infinite-paper to single-leaf you need  only 
  27. some grips.First you'll have to press the 'Paper-Feed'-key  while 
  28. pressing the 'Print-Pitch'-key and the printer will push back the 
  29. infinite-paper  and park it.This means the  infinite-paper  won't 
  30. disturb the user while printing on single-leafs ! You must insert 
  31. the single-leaf and use the another key to transport it into  the 
  32. printer.After another grip the paper is in the right position  to 
  33. be printed !!!! Great invention !
  34. This  sounds good and it is good,  but not perfect because  some- 
  35. times while changing from single-leaf printing to  infinite-paper 
  36. the  printer  isn't able to remove the  infinite-paper  into  the 
  37. correct  position and in most cases you lose one leaf  !  If  you 
  38. want  to  avoid  this  mistake you can set a  new  mark  for  the 
  39. beginnig of the page and everything will work right.  Let us talk 
  40. about the different kinds of type.Their're seven different  sizes 
  41. for  all fonts.These sizes can be combined in the NLQ-Mode  (near 
  42. letter quality) with three different kinds of type.The printer is 
  43. able  to  print about 144 signs per second in  the  fastest  mode 
  44. called  'draft'-mode.The NLQ-mode is able to print 30  signs  per 
  45. second.The  printbuffer is 4KByte and this is more then  most  of 
  46. the  other printers for about 400 marks.Intern the STAR LC-10  is 
  47. able  to work with 14 different international  signsortiments.  A 
  48. good printer needs a good manual and the STAR LC-10 has got both. 
  49. The 144 pages of the users manual tell everything important  from 
  50. the installation,the work with printer and basic till the  design 
  51. of  new  signs.The noisy is reduced to a minimum and it  is  also 
  52. possible to talk while printing with the new STAR.

  55. The  STAR  LC-10 printer seems to be one of  the  best  nine-pin-
  56. printers for about 400 marks.You can get the latest inventions of 
  57. printing  technic without missing great signs and  good  printing 
  58. quality !  Altogether the printer is well constructed and we  can 
  59. say:'The STAR LC-10 is POWER WITHOUT THE PRICE !!!!!' !
